Bertrand Piccard knew it, too. He who circumnavigated the globe in a hot-air balloon, then in a solar-powered plane, to prove that boldness and lightness can go hand in hand. And before them, the Apollo astronauts, who looked up so high that they eventually made it there.
The Supernova Ecolodge is not a museum, nor is it a planetarium. It is an ecolodge in the Rhône-Alpes region where exploring the night sky becomes an atmosphere, an invitation, a state of mind.
An observatory at 1,550 meters
Here, the sky isn’t just a backdrop—it’s the main attraction. Its tunnel-like structure is reminiscent of an observatory telescope, a space module, or the fuselage of an aircraft. The large picture window is oriented so that the Milky Way streams into the room on clear nights. At 1,550 meters, far from any light pollution, the mountain sky reclaims its rightful place. And it is beautiful. You suddenly understand why people left everything behind to go up there.
What Awaits You Upon Arrival
As soon as you step into the entryway, you can hear the sauna fire crackling—because after a day spent gazing up at the peaks, your body deserves a moment of relaxation, too. Facing the floor-to-ceiling window, tucked under a cozy comforter, the bed takes center stage, like a base camp facing the peaks. A small reading nook near the stove promises delightful moments, a perfect complement to the slow-cooked meals you can prepare in the small, fully equipped kitchen.

A small, eco-friendly wooden cabin with a huge picture window, a wood-pellet stove, and just the essentials—so that luxury is all about time, space, and nature.
A 160-centimeter-wide bed, so you can stretch out
A big bed makes all the difference. Making sure it's made and that you feel welcome the moment you walk in—that's our way of taking care of you.
A private traditional wood-fired sauna
Light the fire, let the warmth envelop you, feel the chill of the outdoors. Close your eyes, open up, or talk about your day. A moment just for you.
A local breakfast
After a good night's sleep, no matter what time in the morning, what a treat it is to know that a delicious breakfast is waiting for you: mountain bread, cake, fruit juice, cheese, cereal, fruit compote…
A fully equipped kitchen
Here, there’s no oven, toaster, or microwave! Two stovetops, a fondue pot with its burner, two candle-powered raclette machines, and a few utensils so you can cook for yourself.
An eco-friendly bathroom
A sink, a nice mirror, a shower, and homemade soaps. But for hot water, you’ll have to rely on the sauna—and your ability to mix the water to get the right temperature.

Activities: Summer or winter, set out on a guided adventure
In both winter and summer, your ecolodge is the starting point for many activities. And everything else is never far away.
Contact us to try your hand at rock climbing, go mountain biking, go ski touring with a guide, explore the local flora and fauna, or even go rafting, paragliding, bobsledding…!
Important!
In winter, access is only possible on foot, with snowshoes, or on cross-country skis (30 min, 200 m elevation gain). Feel free to contact us for more information.
